| Wes was born in Fall River, MA and moved to Tarpon Springs, FL as a young boy. He grew up just down the street from Bertie and they became close friends immediately and did their best to terrorize the neighborhood.
They began their business relationship in the mid 70's when they created The Safford Avenue Saloon on the railroad tracks (wrong side) in Tarpon Springs. The bar was a great success until the town fathers insisted on it's closing after only four years. I suppose you just can't have too much fun. Wes became Bertie's road manager after the initial success of Key Largo and has been with him ever since. He is well liked by the band and promoters alike and spends a great deal of his time on the road with the show. He is responsible for all of the tour details and is one of the best in the business. Wes still resides in Tarpon Springs. |
